Just some potential ideas as to what the Derivative Art Mission Statement should be.
Derivative aims:
- To collect thoughts and ideas on derivative works from the creators of such works and others within creative communities - maintaining perspective, avoiding revisionism.
- To celebrate shining examples of derivative works.
- To promote better understanding of remix culture and the individual communities, works and creators within it.
- To record information regarding important works for future reference and enjoyment.
- To collect reactions to works, to understand their effects both within and beyond their target audiences.
- To promote debate on the value of derivative works.
- To promote the production of derivative art as a meaningful and valuable form of expression.
